I’d always choose fresh, ripe, local “non-organic” produce
over “flown-in” wilted, days old“organic”…
however whenever possible choose the ripest, freshest
AND organic goodies you can find!
Here’s a list of produce which is safe to buy non- organic:
Avocados, Broccoli, Walnuts, Papayas, Mangos, Melons, Onions, Black Plums
Here’s the produce which you best avoid if it is not organic:
(which means they are sprayed with too may toxic pesticides that cannot be removed with washing, or has been grown in soil containing toxic elements)
Most Berries, Grapes, Apples, Nectarines and Peaches, Spinach, Celery, Bell Peppers, Almonds
The other fruits and veggies not on this list fall in between. Use in moderation if not organic.
PS: Coffee beans contain 23 known pesticides if not organic so do your best to find an organic cup of “joe” or make it yourself!
i agree. local is better because it’s not all covered with diesel fumes.
